What would Oppo do? Get a car you want, with the engine you don't particularly want? Or wait another year or so until it gets the engine you want?

What are you waiting for?

And if you have a currently functioning car that isn't set to detonate for another year, I'd wait.

Wait.

All you will think about is "what-if" for the your entire ownership of the car.

Would I take a Canyon with a 2.5 instead of the 3.6? Probably.

Disregard patience, acquire GT-Rs.

Get an older car with a better engine for the same price.

You could frame the question to yourself this way. "Should I wait and be rewarded for my patience or get something that looks like what I want now and always be slightly disappointed in the performance?"

Wait. Because when it comes out you'll probably be disappointed.

You wait.

I looked at the Focus ST when it came out. But it was too big and expensive and didn't drive like I wanted it. I was ready for a car though.

Then the Fiesta ST came out a year later.

Good things come to those who wait.

Wait for new model, then buy old model on discount as they try to get rid of them.

Absolutely, positively, hands down, delay gratification. Otherwise you'll be stuck with the slow version forever while your idiot friends say "yo just engine swap it" on a weekly basis.
